Our Story

A Church Planted
in Faith

City Bible Church Philippines was founded in 1992 in Muntinlupa under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jaime Gustilo. What started as a small congregation with a big vision has grown into a nationwide network of 25 congregations spanning Mega Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

"Despite walking through fiery trials in recent months, Romans 8:28 remains true for us. Those tumultuous times have made us wiser, more holistic, intentional, and dynamically vivid. We cannot take the route of shortcuts and manipulation — we believe that the process is the key." Ptr. Jaime Gustilo — Senior Pastor, The Poimen

Through biblical preaching, intentional discipleship, and strategic church planting, CBC has remained anchored to its founding mandate: glorify God by winning the lost, duplicating leaders, and planting strategic churches.

Today, CBC continues its vision — Taking the City, Taking the Nation, and Beyond — with the same conviction: God's process, not man's shortcuts, is the path to lasting fruit.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

These are the foundational truths that City Bible Church holds without question — our shared belief as one body under Jesus Christ. CBC is a Reformed/Calvinist Protestant church.

I
The 66 books of the Bible, in both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God — the ultimate authority for faith and practice in the Christian church today.
Psalm 119:160 · 2 Timothy 3:16
II
We believe in one God, revealed in three persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — as the sovereign Creator and Ruler of the universe. All three persons are equal in essence and in power.
1 John 5:7
III
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His miraculous virgin birth, His fulfillment of messianic prophecy, His atoning death for His people, His bodily resurrection, and His visible return in glory.
Isaiah 9:6 · John 1:14 · John 3:16 · Revelation 22:20
IV
Man is spiritually dead and under the curse of sin. He cannot save himself apart from the regenerating power and grace of God — apart from Christ, there is no hope.
Romans 3:23 · Romans 3:10
V
God is absolutely sovereign — He does according to His will in heaven and on earth. No one can restrain His hand or question what He has done. His purposes stand.
Daniel 4:35
VI
Unconditional Election: God chose us in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight — not based on anything we would do, but on His own sovereign will and purpose.
Ephesians 1:4
VII
Irresistible Grace: Those whom God has chosen will be drawn by God and saved through faith — by absolutely no merit of their own. God's grace cannot ultimately be refused by those He calls.
John 6:44 · Ephesians 2:8–9
VIII
Eternal Security: All for whom Christ died can never be lost again. Those who truly receive God's salvation are sealed by the Holy Spirit and will persevere and endure to the end.
John 10:27 · Ephesians 1:13 · 2 Corinthians 1:22
IX
The Church is the Body of Christ, bound together by the Holy Spirit, consisting only of those born from above — for whom Christ now makes intercession in heaven.
1 Corinthians 12:12–31
X
Those born of God cannot continue to live in sin. They live holy lives and abide in His Word. A changed life is the distinguishing mark that they are truly citizens of heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17 · 1 John 3:9
